Maths Teacher at a School in Malappuram, Kerala.
She is a Valsa, a Former Maths Teacher at a School in Malappuram, Kerala. Three years ago, a woman Divya Siyer (IAS) spotted her begging at a railway station in Kerala and her life changed thereafter. But that time she didn't recognize her properly but as the student went and saw the she is her class teacher.
When vidya met retired school teacher outside the railway station, she was wearing unwashed clothes.
Speaking to the Outlook, Divya explained what happened that day, she said:
There were a couple of polythene bags with her containing water bottles and old pieces of clothes. I saw her plucking and eating small fruits from the nearest tree, so carefully as if she didn't want a single leaf to fall down because of her. Vidya when asked about her. She said after I retired, my children left me and don't know about their living. So she started begging in front of Railway Station. Then the student cried and took her to her home and I gave good dress and to eat and planned for her future living contacted every friends who studied with her. And took her to a better place to live. Own children left her but the children whom she taught they didn't left. That is the greatness of Guru shishya parampar
